Guess who's back?
Friday, August 6, 2010

I'm finally back and decided to update on the past few days!

Last weekend, I was at the NTU La Cosa Nostra 2010 which is the Perbayu and MS camp, yes. I won't deny that I had doubts on the way to the camp. I had no idea why I ever decided signing up for it in the first place. However, after the 3 days & 2 nights spent at the camp, I had never been more glad. It was just great! I had so much fun meeting new people, and getting to know the malay community in NTU - be it them seniors or the freshies. Even though some weren't in my favour, most of the people I met at the camp, were awesome!

The camp revolved around an interesting mystery about a mafia family..
Everyone who stayed throughout the camp!
HARLEM ftw! Lol (yes, that was my group :)

Oh yes, it is SUCHA small world indeed..
Nadrah, my crescent senior, ended up as my faci and Marah Fahmy was in my group! Lol
It was nice to see some familiar faces though [:
My group won the 'Semangat Gila' award. LOL
It was cos we really took the Amazing Race seriously. Come on, we practically ran around everywhere. We came in first, more than an hour ahead than the other groups. Say whaaaaat!? Lol okay point is, yes we were very enthusiastic and deserved the award alright.

I really had fun throughout the whole camp. Plus, I did learn a couple of lessons from the whole experience. It was definitely worth my time. Besides, I do enjoy hanging out with Malays in spite of the ever-growing stigma we Malays face most of the time. I personally think it is very sad when one forgets his or her own roots, culture and background as time passes by. Not only that, I think it is fucking stupid for us Malays to hate or show contempt towards our own people. Come on, stop perpetuating the whole stereotype(s). Everyone needs to realise the major irony in doing so.

Moving along, I had the best 'Nasi Goreng Kampung' at West Coast after the camp. Dad and brothers fetched me from NTU for dinner

It was really good, even though the picture may not be doing it any justice. Oh my, I need more of that soon enough..

Monday was spent with my two favourite girls, Amirah & Eera baby. It was just lovely getting to chill out without doing anything much but talk. It is always the littlest things that matter most

After which, on Tuesday morning, I left for the Psychology FOC 2010!
In comparison, it was not as fun as the first camp I went for, honestly. Nonetheless, I did meet some great people who will be in the same course as me. Plus, we stayed at Aloha Loyang Resort bungalow, which was really nice. So anyway, on the second day, we were brought to IMH for a short visit. The interaction session with some patients living there was an exceptional experience. I gained so much insight in such the short span of time we spent there. It made me realise how easy things really are for most of us, unfortunate, beings. In short, it was a meaningful experience. The rest of the camp was just a-okay. The best part of the camp, to me, was the late-night supper/dessert at Downtown's MacD. I had Cornetto Mcflurry and it was awesome. Other than that, I do not really remember much from the camp. LOL

My group members! Oh, and we were the BEST group :D
We got $50 worth of Pastamania vouchers. I'm so looking forward for the OG outing. I could use some pasta soon! Lol

Aren't these things just so cute?!??

I really, really, love the sun..
From the camp, I went down all the way from Pasir Ris to Chinese Garden after making super last minute plans with my favourite crazy girl friend! Headed down to Clarke Quay with my new-found party people and danced the whole night away. Ahmad & his friend, Khairul, were really great company. I especially liked how they could dance and how awesome they were at mocking some of the silly people at Rebel/Zirca. It was hilarious! I, myself, had one hell of a night full of clean fun. The early breakfast at Shaw Macs was the best part of the whole night. It was real nice that we could hang out comfortably even though we all just got to know each other. So, the search for Uni clubbing kakis -check! *inserts 'tick'* LOL

Headed back to Amirah's crib after the long, awesome night and slept my Thursday away before making my way back home after dinner at Mr Teh Tarik eating place. What a lovely week it has been so far!

Oh and yes, I couldn't choose just one colour from Amirah's awesome nail polish collection!!!
So I've multi-coloured nails now! LOL

Alright, now let's just wait and see what the weekend has in store! Xoxo
